                      TAMIL NADU CUSINE 


Tamil Nadu is situated on the southern coast of India. In Tamil Nadu is most of the peoples are vegetarian because there are many  temples so brahmans use to live there .
Friends,  In the food tamil nadu  you can find the essence of different community that have ruled on the land of tamil nadu. The  communities that ruled and  gave impact on tamil nadu culture and food was Cheras, Cholas, Marathas, pandyas and britishers also add their culture .
Really guys cholas king were really very intelligent, they checked the fertility of the land near kaveri river and they started growing rice.
Well everyone knows  that how much rice have dominted the  tamil cuisine, like idli ,dosa . almost every thing has rice.
 In Tamil Nadu we can find many type of rice and interesting thing is that they have  many methods to cook those rice like lemon rice, dahi chawal, imli chawal, etc.
If I ask you the what are those  ingredients of south Indian cuisine which is used for adding flavour. That is curry leave , coconut and imli. Really guys these ingredients are life of South Indian cuisine.
Do you know imli(tamarind)  is aslo an Indian like us, I mean that imli was originated on indian land. So those people who love imli chutney should be thankfull to  India.

Traditional Tamil cuisine :

1:-DOSA:-

I don’t think that I have to explain what dosa is, almost all Indians are fond of this and in almost every Indian family dosa is prepared now a days. In other states it is counted in stret food which is served with coconut peanut chutney and sambar.

2:-IDLI:-
Well it is another cuisine which doesn’t need introduction . The batter of dosa and idli is same , but batter of idli is quite thick . Idli is steamed and I think the shape of idli make it more attractive.
If you are health conscious then please go for south Indian food like idli, dosa which cooked with healthy ingredient and consumes less oil.

3:-MENDU VADAI:-

Mendu Vada can be considered as street food in many parts.
Mendu vada has different shape , I think first time a person can try mendu vada because of the interesting ring like shaped . It is crispy and deep fried in oil, made from urad daal.

4:-NEI PAYASUM:-
Payasum is one of the oldest cuisine of tamil nadu, which is cooked with rice, gud( jaggery ) and milk.From early  time till now there is  nothing changed in the ingredients and the method of preparing Payasum. In  south india Payeshams are prepared in occasions as desert.
  About  Payasums we can found in Buddhist and Jain menuscripts. Isn’t it amazing.
