Rajasthan is place of kings was influenced by many culture and traditions which is visible in their folk dance and music. Dance and music was the source of expressing feelings, stories, happiness, sadness and it was also done for entertainment. Earlier for the entertainment of kings dance and music was presented .
1:-FOLK DANCE:-
Rajasthan has many type of dance form like ghoomar, Kalbeliya,Kachchhighori, bhopa, kathputli, chang etc many dance form was originated with the different tribes. From such dance form ghoomar and kathputali dance is more famous.
:-Ghoomar dance:-
Ghoomar dance is performed by the women on special occasions such as weddings and festivals. In this dance the women wears colourfull long skirt which is called ghaghra in hindi which is full of heavy embroidery .Do you know the Ghoomar is derived from tha word ghoomna which means rotation. Believe me or not ,but this dance is eye pleasuring. This dance is performed on traditional folk songs.
2:-FOLK SONG:-
With every form of dance, Rajasthani people sings melodious songs and plays instruments.
Their level of singing can be seen when we hear "padharo maare desh" in television. While sings few line of welcoming they steals the heart of tourists and attract other towards them.
3:-TRADITIONAL ATTIRE:-
Rajasthani attire are colourfull which make them attractive.
The Rajasthani mens wears dhoti kurta and mojri ( which is also called jutti) . The mojaries are also colourfull and has embroidery designs on then. Most important things in Rajasthan mens attire is pagri which is called turben in english , it is also colourfull.
Do you know in Rajasthan only pagries are weared in different style in different areas. The method of carrying the pagri tells the person hometown.
Like mens women's also wears colourfull dresses. They wears Ghaghara Choli with long Odhani, whole cloth is colourfull with heavy embroidery and they also wears mojri like mens.
Rajasthani women are fond of jewellery , they wears jewellery in most of the part of their body . All this make them look adorable.
